Gasworks, the non-profit contemporary visual art organisation based in Vauxhall, South London, has received funding from the Freelands Foundation to support its groundbreaking residencies and exhibitions programmes. The Freelands Artist Programme grant supports a promising UK-based artist living outside London, who has not yet had significant exposure, with a residency and the opportunity to produce new work for a solo exhibition and accompanying programme of events at Gasworks. The Freelands Artist Programme will run for three years, starting in 2016. Glasgow-based artist Jamie Crewe is the first artist to benefit from the Freelands Artist Programme, and their exhibition Female Executioner is showing at Gasworks from 26 January to 26 March 2017.
