Tate Exchange

Tate Exchange is an experimental annual programme that brings together international artists, over 50 partners who work within and beyond the arts, and the public, to explore a chosen theme through a series of interactive events, workshops and talks. Programmed by Tate and Tate Exchange Associates, these exchanges take place on a dedicated floor located in the newly opened Switch House at Tate Modern, with activities also taking place within the first floor galleries at Tate Liverpool. Freelands Foundation provided funding for the programme in 2015 and 2016, supporting dedicated Learning and Digital development staff, specialists to create the Tate Exchange website and shape the Associates Programme, and research and development to devise the Public Programme. This support enabled Tate Exchange to be successfully launched in September 2016 and Freelands Foundation has provided ongoing support in its inaugural year.
